Yea i know you're probably sick of seeing pic threads but i just adore the thing!![]()
I bought two laptops at the same time (one for me and one for my partner) they're both identical in spec but different colours - Sunshine Yellow and Ruby Red. Ordered them on the 29th October and they were both delivered on 2nd November - i was amazed at how fast they came because the estimated date was 16th November. They each had about £200 off the normal price and both came with a free bag each.
The Ruby Red one had a dead pixel in the middle of the screen (might have been a cluster because it looked quite big) so i rang Dell and they said no problem, they're swapping it, just waiting for the replacement. My Sunshine Yellow one had a slight bulge in the keyboard from the letter 'K' to the enter key so after much searching on this forum i thought screw it and i sorted it myself rather than risk a replacement laptop with a bigger problem. Using the manual from Dell's site i removed the keyboard, tucked the offending wire back in and now it's perfect. Phew!
So both have got off to a wobbley start but i can live with that because damn they're good! First thing that struck me was the build quality, they feel really tough and the keyboard is lovely to type on, far better than my old Toshiba laptop.
The glossy screen is amazing, which is a relief because i intend to use this as a desktop replacement and i work with photos a lot so the high resolution and vibrant screen is perfect for me. There's no grainyness on the screen and virtually no light leakage apart from a very small amount on the black start-up screen which i assume is pretty normal. The screen is LG Phillips (LPLE400).
I was completely new to Vista and it seemed quite bloated so i followed this guide here which has really helped: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=166532
Using CloneDVDMobile to copy my DVD's to ipod/archos player it takes about 9 minutes to convert a 25 minute show which is much faster than my old desktop especially seeing as i was using other programs at the same time.
Overall i couldn't be more pleased and i'm glad that i changed my mind at the last minute to buy Dells instead of HP's!

Third and fourth images look like they could be used in advertising. Some really nice photos you took, and damn does that Sunshine Yellow look nice. Luckily, I'm extremely happy with my Midnight Blue

Mmm, these pics actually made me doubt about my [used to be solid] decision to get the Vostro 1500. LOVED THE SCREEN in the last shot! And I never thought I'd see Sunshine Yellow as something so... whoa! It just looks so cool! I kinda wish you chose a C2D T7300 processor, though.
Nice pics! -
Wow...I've never seen Sunshine Yellow look as good as in these pics. Makes me almost wish I'd gone for it.

I wanted to show pics of how it really looked in real life because a lot of the pics i've seen of it made it look kinda orangey and it isn't, it's a really vivid yellow.
ps i made a typo on the HDD size, should read 320gb (doh!)
