My DHL Diaries and how they screwed me over.

So i placed an order for my dell studio on the 7th of august and it was initially estimated to ship August 25th and after hearing about everyone's dell getting delayed by Dell i feared mine wouldnt be shipped in time for school... Then, on august 24th i checked my order status and it says SHIPPED!!! this made me so happy knowing that my dell studio was shipped A DAY EARLY and since I got the 2 day shipping from dell, I know i can definitely receive my new laptop in time for school!

So after anxiously waiting the painfully slow 2 days to pass by, I looked at the tracking information on my dell and it said on the 26th that the package had reached south plainfield, NJ.. I was happy knowing my dell was only 15 minutes away! So i anxiously waited the entire day near my front door for the big DHL van to drop off my package, however, little did I know.. Time slowly passed by and still no DHL.

So the next day I contacted DHL and politely asked when my dell would come and they basically told me they dont know and that there is a delay in the transit something like that and they told me IT SHOULD BE DELIVERED TODAY.. So then hearing that made me excited and say thank you to them and just waited patiently for my dell... unfortunately DHL never showed up.

So the days following I attempted to contact DHL and each day they told me I should expect the package that day, but after waiting several hours, they tell me they cannot make the delivery today... slowly i am losing my patience with DHL.

Well.. now today is the 29th and I am leaving for college tomorrow and I decided to give DHL another shot this morning and call them and ask if its on its way, and they said yes... So now that i've waiting many hours and its still not here, I decided to call DHL again and they said they would call me back.. So i waited and ironically, DHL just called my cellphone as I was typing this up only to ask me if i knew the serial number or model number of my package to file a missing package claim because they had lost track of it... So the person at DHL tells me to stay on the line so she can call to ask them for my package serial number and stuff which I did not have and I waited on the line just a few moments before she hung up on me, and it has been 20 minutes and they have yet to call me back. I give up..... I have been too patient with them and now im leaving for college without a computer.

Oh, and did I mention that my dell has been at the DHL center only 15 minutes away from my house since the 26th? I can't believe they lost track of it..

 

This is common with DHL, they've lost one of my hard drives I ordered from Dell. Dell sent another via DHL who left it in my yard. Not at the door or porch but sitting on the grass in plain sight of everything.

 

that is really unfortunate.....I hope my shipping company Purolator won't be as woefully inept as DHL seems after your story....

 

Sorry to hear. DHL has always been great to me. Parts from Dell always came in a day right on the porch.

 

That's pretty ridiculous, but whatever... That's why I love UPS and FedEx

ok to add to this story they said they were delivering it again today and then it never came i called and they put me on hold for an hour and never got back to me so i hung up.. this is rediculous

 

Call Dell, and promptly threaten a full return since they didn't deliver.

DHL needs to die.

 

greg good idea! im going to try that cuz right now their telling me "oh its on its way to delivery!" then next hour they tell me "sorry its not at the service center yet!"

this is ridiculous im still on the phone with them

 

It is a case of suicide by apathy

 

so if incase u wanted to know.... dell wont process the refund until tuesday so i have to call back tuesday and thats gona be annoying as hell since tuesday ill be at school. i am so annoyed.

dhl sucks and dell wont do anythin about it until monday.. this is crappppppp

 

You should have just done what I did. I just went and picked it up at DHL myself, that way I didn't have to wait for it to be delivered.

 

Oish.... Not good at all.....and this being a holiday weekend adds to your further frusration of having to wait til Monday or Tuesday....

Be sure to get documentation on everything just for your backup.

so yea.. im a college now and just called dhl today and they told me they dont have it... soo looks like ill never be gettin a dell studio now lol
