Looks to be pretty much what I just ordered on the 14th.
Only differences are DVD+ Drive and the 1350 instead of the 1450 Wireless.[ :D] Ship date is listed as the 26th and it's in the build process as of right now. Hoping to have this thing earlier, but if not, I guess I can wait for a bit. This will be my first laptop computer.

go to dells support site and type in your service tag.

after that you can see details of you laptop and get current drivers etc...

BTW... on of the first things i did was insert my Matrix DVD and the 9100 handled it very well.. most software DVD players have a brain fart trying to play that DVD... The picture is awsome and the sound is very good for a laptop..

Congrats, grosh (may I call you grosh?)! I hope I end up with the same. As soon as I read that, I called Dell up to ask them to put in the Samsung instead of the Hitachi. They said I'd get whatever was on the assembly line... [ :p]

Day 2 playing with my Dell 9100

Installed battlefield Vietnam... good game.. I think i like COD better...

The graphics are just amazing and it does not look like it had to stretch anything to fit the screen.. Right now i have everything (graphics) turned up all the way and it still runs fine.

Also installed Dark age of camelot - trials of atlantis. This actually supported the 1680x1050 native resolution (yippie) and runs very smooth.

the sound on both was execelent. i still have not turned the sound all the way up...

the bluetooh keyboard and mouse are still one of my favorite features... The only negative it the 1-2 second wake up time they both have... it was a big deal at first cause every time i would go back to my desk and move the mouse or type the first though in my head was... (what the hell is wrong now) but now that i am used to the wake up time i just wiggle the mouse while im sitting down so its not unexpected anymore.

Don't know if this is the right place, but since you're posting Inspiron experiences, I'll share mine.
Recently received my Inspiron 9100 and it's a real beauty.
My only quibble is that when I close the screen and open it again, the display appears to shift to a lower resolution and then jump back to my settings. The effect is that all my non-maximized windows (using XP Home version) end up shifting to the upper left hand corner of the screen and the windows themsleves are resized (cropped from the right). It's an annoyance, but I can not get anywhere with Dell - they've told me to update the drivers/bios of both the video card and the computer (done) and upgrade to XP SP 1 (done). And hit Fn-F7 (done, but it doesn't look like it did anything)
Is anyone else experiencing this? I really don't want to have to repair XP (Dell's final suggestion), especially since I've been having this situation since day 1...

    Thanks,
    CB

i have the same problem, it is caused by the dell idiots that don't feel the need to upgrade the video drivers (ATI will only upgrade the drivers if dell request them for a very high potential problem to their systems) so we will have to wait bro and see what happens.

If u can't fix it, thow it out the window.

for the image resizing, go into (run services.msc and set the ati hotkey poller from auto to manual and it should cure your problem with the screen resizing....
