great review. I have an inspiron 6400 but was debating selling it and gettin a 1210 for the portability of it.

I don't think you will truely appreciate portability on an XPS m1210. It's an excellent machine but it weights 4.37 LBS.

It is smaller in dimensions though..that makes a difference sometimes. I agree that it's not "truly" an ultra-portable, but it packs some serious firepower.

I notice in the video that there are only 2 buttons above the keyboard below the lid instead of the expected 3. Was 1 removed due to Vista? I'm assuming that one of the two buttons is the power button. Was the media direct button removed?

I looked at the dell website but only see pictures with the 3 button version.

Well I guess these days one has to choose between portability (with mediocre graphics performance) or to lug around a 17 incher with a good graphics card. Dell has a 512mb video card on their 20" xps, but come on, who would carry a 20" "laptop" around. They shouldn't even call them laptops!

I guess Dell's website is wrong with one of its photos. If you go to their website, select the gallery button on the XPS M1210 page, and click on the lowest left image, it'll show a 1210 without the camera but with what appears to be 3 buttons below the lid - at least that's how the image appears to me.

I would. I'm getting one when I can afford it. It's a desktop replacement, that I don't imagine moving much... maybe between rooms & moving to different places.

The fact that its a 1 piece, with 1 cord coming out of it (power), makes it infinitely superior to a multiple piece desktop, requiring keyboard, mouse, LCD, and wires running everywhere.
