If you want to get the information off, try an external hard drive case or desktop with a free connection. It sounds like a motherboard issue, but it could be RAM even. Have you made any changes in the recent past?
-
Or it could be a broken power jack...
No lights, no power.
No power, power brick or more likely power jack.

One other common answer would be your Source Voltage has been over the required voltage or below too many times.
This is normal in almost any city of any country in this world.
Homes or residential neighborhoods are on the lowest tier of all power schemes according to the Utility Power Consortium.
When this occurs, i.e. poor voltage, your battery, the adaptor, and the connection to the motherboard the battery makes may all be bad.
You may buy a new adaptor if it is not working anymore.
This will allow you to use your computer.
Like gengerals said it may be the motherboard.
If a new adapter boots your laptop and a new battery does not help.
You can still use your laptop, but the moment the power goes out, your laptop loses power too!
All computer users should have a Voltage Regulator in line with a UPS, no matter if you have a laptop with a battery.
Think like this....
I need to protect my adaptor, battery and laptop from damage.
This will save you from any further damage from the outside.
And limit the problems to the laptop manufacturer.
At this point it is wrong to blame the manufacturer.
You got to sort out your power situation first Dude!

I would not blame the laptop manufacturer if they were honest , but they are not .. they know the batteries are rubbish and if there are power source issues which affect my or your laptop and consequent steps which can be taken, then why are these not built into the systems they sell or offered as add ons? oh maybe it because they know that selling batteries and power adaptors to you and i a few months after the warranty expires is good business for them . so hey dude sort out your priorites because dell and co don't need you to defend them.

I don't have protector here too, and it makes me to worry....
After 1 week I will be fully protected in my home place
