My E1505 was plugged into a 6550 Jule surge protector and today we lost power. When I got home I noticed that my laptop was turned off. When I press the power button nothing happens.

The battery indicator shows full power.

The power brick shows a green light when plugged in.

The surge protector did not activate.

Nothing happens with my laptop with wall power regardless of if I have the battery in the computer or not.

Even when unplugged and just on battery power nothing happens when I try and power the system on.

Media direct doesnt work the power button doesnt work.....nothing.

My laptop is less than 60 days old since it was manufactured and I have had it less than 2 weeks.

    Please help quick.

Do you have accidental damage protection? If so just give them a call, otherwise I guess you could try to BS Dell but it sounds likely that your board is dead and prolly everything in it. Tough luck mate.

Yes, if your board is fried and so are all the components it will be cheaper to buy a new computer. Hopefully it isn't fried but...

Im waiting right now to chat with dell to see what they say. Stupid logitec speakers are fine, but my lappy seems to be toast.

Maybe contact the people who manufactured the surge protector? Oftentimes they insure everything you had plugged into the surge protector, but I've heard it's hard to get a claim... good luck

Dell says its a motherboard failure so far. Since Im stationed in Turkey right now Im guessing that their looking for a repair location.
