I would so like to get the 2GHz Santa Rosa /w 4MB L2...but it hikes the price up a lot and I feel guilty considering I have a X2 3600+ Brisbane @ 2.9GHz, 2GB RAM with a 7900GS as my main computer....I think im getting greedy and I can't "really" afford to spend that much.

So with that said, I looked into other options and first I must say I cannot stand the look of the Compals. Period. Ok rant over. The Asus laptops look nice but for hte same price you get a 7600...so basically I might as well get this.

    Will the 1.5GHz C2D be ok? I mean...right now my laptop I am using gets...Let's see....1900 points on 3dmark2001 LOL !

Basically my question would be a comparison:

How would this laptop I built compare to the following:
    Pentium Dual Core D805 (2.66GHz), 1GB RAM, 6600GT ?
That is my backup rig that I have and it plays everything I have...so if the laptop could perform the same, or better than this rig, that is perfect :)

    Thanks, ps2cho

EDIT: Oh and also, about the Dell Credit Card, I am 18 and I have a job and make good money, would using this card hurt my credit rating or anything negative? It would be nice paying for it over the 6 months without any fees instead of in one lump sum (which I could do, but I would be left with not much in my account)

Oh yeh and I forgot to ask as well, in the future, would the processor be able to be upgraded and I could drop a 2GHz Santa Rosa chip? I would assume it would be possible because the motherboard would be the same. If this is the case, that would be amazing :) A great boost in the future when needed and for right now keep the costs down.

The trick with Dell Preferred Accounts is to NEVER, EVER, EVER pay interest. Their interest rates are ridiculous (ask me how I know ;)). If you are certain you can pay it off in the 6 month time frame, go for it. It will only affect your credit negatively if you do not pay it in a timely fashion (chances are at your age the fact that it is a new account and results in a credit inquiry will have negligible impact on your credit score).
