I'm buying my first Dell product. A Dell Mini 10V. I ordered it the night of the 21st which it fell into being ordered on the 22nd because it was 12AM when I finally confirmed the order. It's "In Production" where it's been since the 22nd. This is torture! I know it's only been like 4 days but I feel like it will be in production forever! :( What are your experiences with these waits? What do you do to pass the time?

Grat's on your order! :D The Netbooks are sweet! (I have the Mini 9..the now Collectors Item) :p

What is your ESD..those are usually over projected to protect for any order delays! So it could very well ship beforehand.

My Mini 9 seemed to take forever to get thru all the Production Stages. Hang in there, and remain a bit patient. I'm sure it will move into the next stage fairly soon. The system usually updates overnight...and checking around 10am is a good time, I have found. You can check via Automated 800-433-9014 (enter 9 digit ref. #,etc) for the latest, check your online account, or call / chat with a Rep directly.

What to do? Watching others unboxing videos is lot's of fun.. :D Reading up on your new Netbook and the fun things you can do with it, looking for accessories (sleeve/case/bag/mouse/headphones/External Hard Drive/Thumb Drive) etc :)

Hanging out on NBR and looking at the awesome threads on the Dell forum!

These are all fun things to do! :)

You will find yourself checking your order a minimum of 10 times a day! :p
(Don't be embarrassed, we all succumbed to it) :)

    Hope that helps!

    Cin ;) :)

Hey Cin! My ESD it July 8th. It seems like an eternity. And I've read all these horror stories about delays and such things. Thank you for your tips about when to check my status! It makes me feel better to know that your Dell Mini was "In Production" for a while too because I'm getting antsy. I've never ordered a computer before. The only computer I've ever owned was an Emachines that I bought from Wal Mart in 2004. Yea I still have it. :) It will be nice to have something new. I'm glad I discovered this site and all of you seem like such lovely helpful people. I will bide my time but reading about other people's order stories hehe. (And yes behind my boyfriend's back I've been checking this like 20 times a day. He is starting to see what a computer nerd I really am lol)

Oh..I bet it will ship before that... :)
I understand..my Mini 9 was my 2nd..after my 1530..and I was so nerved up while waiting for it to finish being built and shipped to me, (well same for my Mini 9)!

Reading the threads is a lot fun :) You learn a lot, and sometimes..even laugh a bit! The guy's they find out how geeky we chica's can be..no use in trying to hide it! ;)

Have you checked this thread also regarding the Dell Laptap Order Stages Wiki? http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=156489

    That's also very helpful!

    Cin ;) :)

OH! That wiki page was very helpful! Thanks so much for drawing my attention to it. I think I'm going to watch some unboxing videos and dream about the fun things I'll do with my new lappy!

Ok so I called the automated number to get the status of my order by phone and it says that the order is "currently processing". Is that the same as "In Production"? Because the first stage was "Order Processing" and I thought I'd gotten past all that. I'm a bit confused. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks in advance for your time.
