I checked my laptop's cpu temp by NHC.
    Temp is about 135~155F.
Is this too hot or not?

    I also have another question.
My cpu is pentium4 M 2.2Ghz. However it only works as 1.2Ghz.
Do you know how can I use all my cpu?
I changed Active Power Scheme to Max. Performance in NHC, but cpu clock is still 1200Mhz.

    Thanks.

My core duo processor runs at about the same temp range... so I'm assuming it's also safe for the pentium m to run in that range. That is just an assumption, though.

And has it always been at 1.2ghz, if so, have you checked the BIOS for any settings to change the clock frequency? If the CPU just randomly lowered its frequency one day, then I doubt the issue lies in a simple BIOS setting... though it doesn't hurt to check...

    EDIT

When idle after startup, and only browsing the web, running virusscans, etc, my CPU will stay around 80F. I will be in 135F temp range when and a little while after playing games.

My laptop runs around 105-110F, so I'm thinking that's a bit hot. Mine will however get up to around 140F+ while I'm playing games though. Keep in mind I don't have a Dell too, but we're talking about CPU's so there shouldn't be much difference.

135-155F is perfectly acceptable for the 8200 as its an older P4 platform which were *hot* compared to newer Pentium Ms.

I to have an 8200 and your temps seem fine mine have been hotter at times for the CPU. Actually this thing just runs hot in general (both my 1.6 and 2.2 models) now about the speed I'm not sure why yours is only running at that speed because I've never had that problem with mine. Try speaking with dell perhaps? you can play with your fans to-crank the speed up a bit and the machine will run cooler. Man at full blast though these things sound like vacuum cleaners! I run at 50% speed and do ok and its quiet to.
