So I've had the laptop since Aug 2007, works great, specs in sig. Only have one problem with it. the laptop likes to punish me. It shocks me. Literally shocks me. I think it's where the paint as worn off on the base. Around the corners, the bottom, ect. If I have it on my lap I need to make sure I don't wear shorts. I can feel a slight amount of electricity sting my legs, or forearms. It's a slight stinging sensation. Anyone else experience this? It's been going on for a little while. I thinking the only fix would be to A) repaint it or B) get a new base for it. Don't really want to repaint it as it might look crappy. Other than HDD issues from time to time, I've never had a problem with it and it's still my main computer.

Anyone else encounter this? Could it be that I have a pinched wire thats exposed and making contact with the base? If any, I think it would be the monitor wires, I seem to recall them being nicked and exposed.

Yeah, if you've got a PA-10/12 adapter with only two prongs in the wall, you may want to consider finding one with three. This was a particularly bad issue with the M1330/M1530, as mentioned.

Wow, I've absolutely nothing to say... That kind of thing never happened to me though. (?) But I've never placed any laptop on my lap ever before - rarely. Erm, maybe just don't put it on your lap? :p

:p actually I don't think the power adaptor i grounded now that I think about it. I'm going to have a look into finding a grounded one. Actually maybe I can just get a new cord that plugs into the powerbrick/wall. Although I remember it not being a standard shape. I don't tend to put this on my lap, but ever once in a while i might.
