    Hi all,

Since this is my first laptop, I am wondering if, since I have it now, if I should uninstall anything Dell puts on it, get some free virus software (please tell me where if so) and so on. Also, is it normal for the back right corner to get pretty hot after its been on around an hour? I bought a one of those pads that ventilate it or something.

Any other tips and stuff would be great too!!

    Thanks for the help! :)

if you got the xp installation cd with your dell id use that to format and put a fresh xp install on to get rid of the bloatware, make sure you download the drivers for your lappy first though, free anti virus I'd go for AVG or avast anti virus, the right back corner/middle area gets hot for me too i think its normal lol,

:) congrats on the new laptop too :D

The first thing you should do is reformat and reinstall windows. Then install all your drivers and programs
