I haven't logged onto the forums in ages so if someone has already posted a similar fix I apologize... I don't have the time to scan through the Dell forum.

I wrote a simple program in Visual Basic which sends out requests to load a non existent site (something like www.adsfjhaskljdfhasd.com in this case). This causes the most minuscule of CPU/HD loads and gets rid of the noise.

It works whether you are connected to the internet or not. +It doesn't have any real impact on your bandwidth, since you don't actually load sites but send out requests to do so. I've included an option for it to tuck away nicely into your taskbar.

You may need the VB6 runtime files to run this program correctly.

The program is tastefully called STFU 1520 because I've wanted mine to do so for the longest time. :D
Please post your experience with this. It has canceled out at least 90% of the noise for me.

Included in the .zip is the source (VB6, not .NET) and the executable.
