My m1330 has been acting very weird lately. The computer has been freezing up and becoming non responsive. Last night I tried to burn a data file on dvd, and the progress bar would freeze a quarter of the way. I wasn't able to cancel the burn process or end the task, I had to force a shutdown. I tried like 5 times. I even tried doing a system restore back to the earliest restore point I had (2 weeks ago) when I know it was working perfectly and it still has issues. I also tried to transfer some files over the wired network to my other computer and it would freeze too. My system has the T7500 Cpu, 2 gigs of ram, rev A04 motherboard with A06 bios.

I'm going to try to run a comprehensive diagnostic on the system later tonight but this is really bothering me.

I think your diagnosis of a bad hard drive is correct. I ran the dell diagnostic and the cpu and memory tests were fine. I ran the comprehensive hard drive test and I got a bunch of errors with the following code: 0F00:0244=Uncorrectable data. I chatted with xps support and they are sending me a new hard drive. I have the Hitachi 120GB 7200rpm model.
