And basically I'm just wondering what I need to update, what I need to change when I boot up to get the most out of the system.

I've read things about changing the dpi or something with resolution, basically if someone can help me and tell me everything I need to setup so that my system will run smooth :p

Also, free online firewall/virus scanners etc reccomends wud be nice :p

    Thanks!

You can increase on screen text and icon size by changing DPI ( Vista DPI scaling). But it has nothing to do with your system running smoother or making the display image sharper or better; just bigger.

    What about screen resolution?

Is there anything I need to do?
