Nah, I didnt get the 9 Cell battery, but my brother has the Inspiron 1720 with 9 cell battery. I does stick out quite a bit, but nothing too terrible... I find the clean look of the 6 cell better.. but its really a personal choice...

I checked the 6-cells battery life... and with moderate use it ends up being around 4 hours with the Vostro.

I got the 15.4 inch Widescreen XGA LCD w/ Trulife..

I know that a lot of people have been having problems with their screens, regarding graininess.... but I do not have any problem with the screen at all. I believe the color is crisp as is it should be, no dead pixels or yellowing of the screen colors at all... As you can see in the pics, the screens extremely clear.
    The resolution is 1280 X 800.

    Mines a AUO 2374,

To check yours, go to device manager in your control panel, under monitors, click on the device twice, in the next screen to go the DETAILS tab, and check your hardware ID under the pull-down menu which says device description.

I also have an AUO screen on XGA Truebrite 1280x800. No graininess and great colour. It does have above average light leakage but nothing that bothers me enough for a replacement.

I believe the graininess in the AUO is much more popular in the XGA+ category.

Ooooo looks nice. I had looked at the inspiron 1521 and this looks just the same... except being all black... and your screen looks brighter too.

Now i'm all jealous... should have waited to get this one...

Good luck with it... enjoy!!! :)
