    Well, for all of you poor inspiron and XPS customers I give my condolences.

    At first when I purchased my dell, the only reason that I found this site was becuase I wanted to see if the Vostro was any good. Then I saw the delay forums, and thought I was going to be in the same boat as everyone else, but I made one little difference...

    I bought one of the vostro 1700's and Its shipping today. I really cant believe it. I bought it less than 6 days ago, and the back pack I ordered with it is slower to get than the laptop!?!

    For all the Inspiron and XPS buyers, if you cancel a million times, you should make sure you cancell for the last time and get a vostro. Same everything really, just all black... and you dont have to wait upto June 28th. And from what ive seen sofar there supposed to be really nice notebooks.

    Sorry to rub salt in the wound inspiron and XPS people... just giving dell the love that it deserves... really in my case only... inspiron and xps should keep giving them **** about their orders.

    I ordered a vostro 1700 on the 31 of july then cancled and reordered on the 1st (added some stuff) it shipped the 6th. tracking says it will be here today, so far i am more than happy with dell. hope the thing works!

    ps. try to get a woman on the line ~ tell her your friends say you look like mathew mcconaughey and flirt you a$$ off :wink:

    If not for Dell's customer service, I do attest to the longevity of their systems - although my Inspiron 8000 isn't good for much more than desktop surfing and typing, it's been working great for a machine that I got over six years ago.

    same everything though the vostros just look like a box! there're really ugly!

    mine looks great, and even performs better! So far definitely the best computer purchase Ive made.

    I ordered my Inspiron on July 31, and its in the boxing stage today. I don't know what the hold up is for everyone else but no issues here either. Maybe its just the colored skins that take a while.

    Vostro orders are delayed too...

    It just depends on what specifications you get (this applies to the Inspirons too). However, it seems like all the m1330 orders are delayed, so let's take a moment to point and laugh at them. :laugh:

    My 1520 was received in 6 days, same as yours (with 3-5 day shipping).

    My Vostro 1500 was supposed to ship on the 20th and it shipped two days ago so Not a delay but an advance. I have never had to deal with Dell's customer service before so I can't comment on that. I can't comment because my Desktop that I bought in 1999 is still running strong ( although sadly I am replacing it today and giving it to a friend)

    Much better luck with dell so far than HP

    Latitude owner here, and will likewise give Dell their due. They've done me right so far, all the way since the days of the D600. We have four Latitudes, and all of them are still working.

    OP, excellent post, thanks for informing us. Of course, I cancelled my Vostro for an Inspiron and had to shake my head and chuckle at myself after reading this thread. :p

    XPS owner here. Took less than a week from ordering to being delivered. Was I happy? Hell yeah.

    Ordered my XPS on Wednesday, it was shipped out on the Thursday, expected on Monday. Had to ask them to confirm that it had really been dispatched, as I couldn't believe how quickly they were turning around the order.

    I ordered my Vostro 1400 on the phone on Aug 2, and I just checked today and its on the delivery truck. Will be waiting for me when I get home from work! I've been very happy so far with everything. Should mention I'm in Canada, I don't know if Canadians have been having the same problems.

    My vostro had better turn up with a 17" screen as thats what i ordered and paid for lol :D
