My XPS had the wobble CPU Whine and Loud CD/DVD Drive. However I thought I would've had a hard time contacing DELL.With them telling me to try this, and try that.Or trying to send a technichian out to fix my issues.Which I would rather get a brand new system, straight out the box.Not have someone opening it up

Anyway, the process was really fast and simple,I actually called the 800 ## used to check order status.Told the CSR my troubles. She put me on hold for 3 minutes, then told me a new XPS well be shipped to me in 7-8 business day. With NBD delevery. So all in all,the whole replacement process, took me 10 minutes.CSR also said,in the new systems box, there well be instructions,on how to ship the old one back.the delevery carrier well come to my house to pick it up,I believe I have within-5-10 days to return the old onw,not sure though

One question though, for those that had a replacement.Well I see a new order on my order page? well I see anything on the dell site, regaurding this. However I did get a email reagurding my issue

No I did'nt downgrade.I was having wobble, cpu whine ,loud cd/dvd drive with my xps 1330.I'm just getting a replacement.same specs.Maybe I should've asked them to throw somthing in, to advance my specs/config.Or warrenty upgrade,I did'nt want to push it,I was just happy,it took such little time,to get a new system,,and under the amount of waiting time.but well see

Thats where Dell is great. Even after you receive the replacement and if its still not up to par, you can do the same again within 30 days. You will get another new system. After the thirty days, they have the option to send you a refurbished.

They should've given you a new order number. I ordered my second replacement on 9/4 and it's been in the boxing stage since yesterday (9/6)

then there must be a typo in your sig because the replacement indicates a downgrade; 2GB to 1GB.

I'm assuming he cancelled his first order, and reordered with only 1gb. His replacement will have the same specs as his 2nd order.

Looks like he upgraded the LCD and downgraded the amount of RAM.

You cannot adjust a replacement at all; the Rep cant even do that.

Just curious though, how do you know if the replacement isn't a refurbished one?

'cause it's clean and smells new? :) com'n, you'll smell a refurb a mile away, dust in the vents, smudges on the screen or the lid (esp if you got the black one), torn packages for accessories... Besides, Dell doesn't send a full retail box with a refurb, it'll come in a plain box w/o any accessories I'd figure ;)

Yes, I would imagine a similar legal setup is in place here in England.

Although, merely on a consumer rights level, I would not accept nor stand for being handed a refurbished notebook as a replacement to a brand new system under warranty, regardless of the aforementioned law.

I paid for a brand new fully functioning system, I expect a brand new fully functioning system.
