Yea, I got it today, even though the IT guy was a complete jerk.

    Anyway, here we go:

    - Build quality is excellent and a helluva lot better than my toshiba.

    - Boot up is fast and sound quality sounds good

    - Got the Dell Wirless N and it seems fast but need to get a wireless N router (any suggestions would be welcome)

    - For the Screen...Welcome to the eyes. I did not get the glossy screen and I'm glad I didn't. I find the matte screen easier to look at and for some reason, clearer.

Really glad I got this computer and 3D mark scores to come later.

    Thank god I don't work tomorrow. :D

Loving it. Cannot believe the graphics when I put battlefield midway on full graphics power. It's awesome.

You lucky you got a nice video card for this laptop. I would buy this one but to carry around a 17" is a nightmare

I had nothing but problems getting games to run with my last radeon. So ever since, I opted for nvidia and never looked back.

Oh if you are running on Windows Vista you'll wish you had an ATi card, nVidia's are still a no-go with many games and the performance is lacking with many.

believed he ordered it on the 5th and I got it yesterday. 2-1/2 weeks (weekends not included). Exactly what I was told.

Was getting antsy in impatient as the week went buy.

Just Ran 3DMark 05 and got a score of 6398. Not sure how well this is in laptop terms. But alot better than my old 6600go on my now old toshiba laptop.

i have no problems carrying the e1705 around. of course, i work out so the difference between lugging around an 8lb e1705 or 6lb e1505 is pretty insignificant. actually, my coworker has a 17 inch xps he carries around and we play wow during lunch and he's a small guy. i don't really see what all the banter is about the horrids of carrying around a 17 inch laptop is all about...

The 6398 points in 3dMark05 out of the box is not bad. The best part is know that there are people that flashed this card with the GTX Bios, being know as "GSX" (7900GS cards using GTX Bios), and getting score up to 11,xxx mark. :D

oh yeah. my point. what i'm saying is, if you're debating on the e1505 and e1705 and really want the e1705 but you think it's going to be more cumbersome to deal with it, just get the e1705. it was worth it for me and i've travelled with a 15.4 and 17 inch every day.

That score on 3dmark05 is really good. Especially after considering that it was not done on a clean install and you were running vista. You can see my scores in my sig. The tests were done on a clean install of XP on a laptop of similar configuration.
