    I have a Studio 15, and a huge HDTV.

Now, the TV is fairly old, and has no HDMI input, so I'm throwing that idea out.

It does have a VGA input. Can I connect my Studio 15 to my HDTV through VGA and have video+sound?

Are there any additional cables I will need?

    Much thanks in advance.

Vga doesn't transfer audio... It will work though, at least with my 50 inch with the picture.

You'll probably need an adapter to convert a "headphone out" port into 2 RCA audio ports (1 Red, 1 White.)
Don't know how high the resolution can go on the VGA out of the Studios though.

You can get sound through your tv through a number of ways, though you will need certain types of cable which are pretty cheap. you can simply get one of those audio out cables (the red and white connections) and plug them into the headphone port of your studio, then into the corresponding ports on your tv and choose the right AV mode. Or preferably do the same but hook it up to your surround system if you have one.

Sorry for the lack of detail, but I'm not an expert, just tried to vaguely explain it.

VGA to tv will be fine, than use a headphone jack to rca cable to hook up the sound to your tv or receiver.

I'm surprised your big screen TV doesn't have DVI. DVI would be digital into your TV therefore a better picture than VGA...

Newegg has hdmi to DVI cables: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882021059

They also have just HDMI to DVI adapters if you already have the HDMI cable: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882021060

There is still the issue of running the audio via RCA jack since DVI is digital video only...In my case had to use a ground-loop hum eliminator to get rid of audio hum when I first connected the notebook audio to the HDTV...
