Ok, it's here, we've had it running for 2 days, transferring files so my girlfriend can do her kids media work.

issue #1 we have just spend the last hour trying to adjust the trackpad and nothing feels right. it moves a lot on it's own no matter if it's a light touch or heavier. REALLY frustrating. me thinks there's a problem here.

    2) when i remove the power cable to run on the battery ( 100% charge) the screen dims REALLY noticeably. I need to check some power management stuff . Anybody know..?

    3) having a backlit keyboard without the media controls lit is just plain stupid. That's enought to return it right there...

    4) keyboard is not perfectly flat. it's definitely usable, not a big deal, but is it supposed to be this way...

    ok, let's hear it... :)

    1) Could be a hardware problem. (I am assuming that you have played around in trackpad settings, the one you get when u double click on trackpad icon in tray)

    2) Two solutions, edit your battery power settings (Double click in battery icon) or else use Fn+Increase brightness to manualy increase

    3) I feel your pain on this one. Totally stupid. I actually made an idea for this in Dell's ideastorn site. Click for the link and while you are there, promote it too !!

    4) Keyboard does have a lot of Flex but it should NOT be the way u describe

Issue number 2 is just a default setting Dell has to save your battery.....when u unplug it, it gets dimmer to save power....its not really something thats wrong with ur studio, its just power saving measure

Yah i feel the same about my studio 15 media controls....Its a pain, but there are some angles, in the dark, when your playing a movie with the backlit on, where u can tilt the laptop to see the icons........Its not really a solution, but I would assume, in time, you'll get a general idea of where the buttons are (eject is to the far right etc.)
