I feel your excitement. Mine has shipped and is arriving tomorrow. And now for my dilemma; my wife has a maternity checkup tomorrow morning. So, do I go support her with our upcoming child and miss the delivery I've been waiting so anxiously for (the PC, not the baby. It doesn't come for a couple months), or wait here for DHL? What to do, what to do.

had to return my 1420 ... 2gig ram 120 hd, high resolution true life screen

it was a auo screen .. terrible screen ... it had silver spots ... not very bright
and the white was not white. Also watching movies because of the grain
the pictures was not sharp. Text was fine.

I liked the laptop but could not live with a substandard screen.

dell offered to let me keep the laptop and knock 200 bucks off .. or send me
a new one..or have tech support have a look at the screen.

My 5 year old dell lcd was much better than the new one... the coating
on the truelife looks like it has tiny specs of metal. I really wanted to keep
it .. think I'll check the toshiba u300 or hp's.

I asked if I could get a credit for the 1330 but they said it was a month and
    a half wait.

i just received my vostro 1400 as well, how long is your boot up? mine takes 2mins, and i have been reading that a normal boot up should be 30-40 seconds, btw my hd is 5400 rpm. and one more thing, how much bloatware did yours come with? i have 120gb total, but when i received it it has 97 gb left

I feel your pain there, torn between two great things. Id say your best bet is to get the tracking info from dell for DHL and see at what time is is expected to arrive hopefully you can do both. ;)

23GB sounds like a lot, there are Threads in the "newbie questions and what not forum" about cleaning up your lap top, getting rid of the bloatware and decreasing boot times.
