My Vostro 1500 has arrived!

Well good news and bad news, my laptop came, but the screen doesn't power up and the battery is super loose .

ahha ahhaha just kidding.

Im at work and my wife called to let me know it came. She is bringing me the laptop in a couple hours. I will have pics by 5pm arizona time.

 

Pls make them hi-ras pics of all angles etc!!!! Will Rep you a million times over if you post them up super fast. BTW what time will that be GMT wise?

Mine is still pre-production I was hoping it would change to production today but no such luck.

DONT SAY THAT. I was set on getting a Vostro until the 300 dollar for the Inspiron came out. Now I missed my chance and I think the coupon has expired. Now I am looking at the Vostro again. The two look oddly similar though....I hope they are different on the inside or in some way other than model. Vostro is so much cheaper. Can't wait for your mini-review...it will probably make or break my purchase because I'm sketchy about going with inspiron...but also a broke to-be college student.

It says in the vostro Q&A that its all around the laptop, the chinese vostro guy said that too. So im pretty sure it will be.

Yeah. Both the Vostro and Inspiron 1520 share the magnesium alloy case. No flex.

The estimated shipping date for my Vostro 1500 is 09/03/2007. I'm kinda sad... Hope it comes earlier...

 

sorry, i've been away from the computer for a while. Anyway the missus brought the laptop to work and I love it. Now my review will be very bias because I have never held, used, owned, any laptop so of course this will be the best I have ever used. But I do have GREAT vision and the screen is not blurry at all. Perfect, crisp, i love looking at it, even if i am just looking at my icons. The keyboard is solid with no movement. Here are answers to many questions....

I have the 1400x900 screen, not pixely at all. If I get right up next to it I can start to see the edges of things, but from 8 inches or more things are sharp.

There is an IR port on the front, right below the media buttons

Mine came with no remote

The body feels very solid, no bend or sag so I would guess its solid alloy (or whatever)

Its a beauty to look at, all black is sweet. My wife couldn't stop looking at it.

I tested the headphones and I didn't hear any buzz or humm from the jack

all in all, i love it, its a little bigger,thicker,heavier than I had hoped...but the money that I saved on it was well worth it.

Plus the battery came fully charged, no waiting-instant fun.

My set up is
1-gig of ram (my 2 gigs are at home will install tonight)
1400x900
128 video card
9 cell battery
web cam (which is really fun, it follows you and zooms in and out all by itself)
and standard everything else

I've been visiting the forum for several months and never ever had any thoughts of register, but for this special evening (almost 11.20 pm in Sweden) I felt that i needed to share my thoughts.

OMG! FECK FECK FECK!

Those blury, but lord so sexy, pictures of the newly arrived Dell Vostro almost made myself do a wet mess over the keyboard. OW GAWD!

My shipping date is set for 7th of August, so there is a couple of longing days left.

Dell Vostro 1400 = My new girlfriend.
