    Greetings and Salutations!

My Vostro 1500 just came in about 10 minutes ago. Let me tell you, this is the first laptop I've ever had. I had the Windows XP, 256 MB Nvidia 8600, 2.0 C2D, 120 GB HD.

Booted it up, and loaded fast! The headphone jacks are quiet, and there is no CPU whine that I can hear of. The screen is a AUO but its crispy clear (I consider myself lucky!) Its a bit bulky, but I can live with it. Also, (the battery) is a little loose, but no big deal. No screen bleeding either.

Things boot up fast with 1 GB RAM. I have a 2 GB stick I'm getting free from a friend.

To Dell, and to DHL.. thank you for doing sufficient testing and for shipping my product successfully. This is my first laptop experience, and I am overwhelmed. Pictures to come soon for those who are contemplating getting a Vostro 1500.

Good to hear you are all liking your Vostros, maybe dell is stepping up to the plate!

Either way, my advice, as of right now, stop looking for anything wrong with them. That is going to be the best way to stay happy with your new laptop.

just picked mine up. missed delivery. Im impressed. Very quite and love the black. How do you find out what is in the computer like what kind of screen I have. I think I got 100 gig hd instead of the 120 I ordered. Want to find out if I got everything I asked for. specs below. One more thing I like. No bloat ware.

Your experience sounds like mine. I can't believe how good a laptop I got for the money. I've got the AUO screen too (WXGA) and it is sharp, crystal clear, and no has no light leakage whatsover. It's funny, because I always thought that the Toshibas at Best Buy or Circuit City had good screens, but the screen on my Vostro blows them away in every department. It looks as good as the Sony laptop screens.

Aside from the faulty headphone jacks on mine, I'm also happy with mine.

Mine is great too. I must use it 8-10 hours a day. I love every minute of it.

    Ok scratch my last post...

Aside from the faulty headphone jacks AND wonky trackpad, I'm happy with it.
