I agree that that was an ignorant post and I respect the fact that the system garnishes so much attention becase of its rarity but, I dont know, I believe its popularity lies in exactly the above and not its appeal.

Its like an old Edsel. Incredible car because of its rarity but it just wasnt that popular in the first place.

Don't get me wrong because Im a lover of things like this but...its white.

maybe for some who wants white, call dell and report a damage on the lcd plastic and say it cracked or something then have it replaced with white.

 

Very nice.Personally I think ,if the back where the battery is,was to be silver also,and not black,would be even nicer.But still very lovely.First time I've seen the pics of white..

 

I was wondering about this for awhile, that if damage occurs to the lid and you want it replaced, can they replace it with another color if you ask for it? Or say you weren't satisfied with the color you got, can they change it for you, since it is just the lid?

 

If they were flexible enough and would respect the customers wishes I'd say yes, but since it's Dell I doubt that.

Hey Direct Girl....Love it baby!!!! There were only 297 made and they will not be making them any further. The whites require 3 extra coats of paint which cant withstand dust contamination so.... that babies a collectors item.

 

No, it is pearly. In low light it sparkles purple and green and blue. Looks just like the paint job on my friends SC300. Sexy for sure. Lexus not Honda.

Ok, I definately will post this weekend. I just start grad school and a new job at the same time, and I have hardley even played with it. I took a vacation day yesterday, and spent alot of time on it, fixing that damn mic driver problem.

Where did you get that number? I would love to know so I can use it in my coercion of the dell rep to send a guy to switch the monitors.

It's a shame that they discontinued that fascia. I'd much rather they had gotten shot of the red one, which I personally think is gharish and very 'pre-m1330' in terms of using that classic, 'I'm an XPS system look at me!' kind of mantra.

I was initially drawn to the m1330 because of it's nuances and subtleties... which I guess is ironic since the previous deal of an XPS unit was to shout at you for your attention with it's lights and stark contrasts. That kind of OTT attention grabbing styling actually has completely the opposite effect on me.

To each their own I guess. Glad to hear that you're happy with your new baby. Worryingly I don't hear that enough about the unit I am looking to purchase myself early in the new year.

Oh, thanks so much for the pics. I'm jealous. I ordered same specs before you and still haven't gotten mine, but such is life! I'm glad I went with the white. I think it is so pretty, though I agree, I wish the battery were silver. You've given me hope that it's worth waiting for!

I'd love to know for certain exactly how many white ones they ended up making. You know, bragging rights!

 

Congrats, my cousin ordered a white one too (Aug 1st, but his won't come 'til mid Sept) My red one came on Aug 22nd and I ordered on Aug 2nd, a day after my cousin =)

Hopefully my cousin's m1330 won't have the cpu whine like mine so I need to get a replacement. Does your cpu whine?
