    Hello everybody. [IMG]

New member ! I would like to get some advice on my XPS problem. [IMG]

My XPS is just over an year old and I am out of warranty. I also have some hardware damage. The point where I plug in my headphone has come loose. See # 11 in this image.

You know how it sounds when the headphone wire's coming loose ? That's exactly how it sounds, only my headphones are in perfect working condition. I can feel the socket is a bit loose. Some internal wiring must have come off because of that. But my laptop speakers are working perfectly.

    So here's my situation:

    I have no Warranty
I have Hardware damage which I want to fix.

How much will it cost to get this thing repaired ?
Is there any way I can swap the headphone and mic jacks using software ?
Would selling this laptop and buying a new one be a good idea instead ?

    Here's my configuration

I bought my XPS for about $ 775 I think. The final price I paid was around $ 820. How much can I sell this for ? Does DELL have a buy back plan, if I want to purchase a new laptop in exchange for this one ?

I would really appreciate your help, guys ! [IMG] Sorry for the long winding post.
