Simple as that, I turn on the computer, HDD usage light blinks for about 3 seconds and then it stops, and then it just stays there doing nothing, the DELL sign with the black background won't even show up.

Took out the HDD and inserted it again... nothing.

It starts when it wants, but it's been 2 days and haven't turned on again since....

Any way to force a POST or something? Atleast I want the screen to show something! give me some options! :(

Reseat/replace the RAM. That's pretty much all you can do without sending it in under warranty.

If the Dell logo isn't even showing up, the RAM probably doesn't even matter. The motherboard, at least, probably needs to be replaced.

Still check it - it'll only take a whole of 2 minutes. I've had computers that don't post with a single stick of bad RAM (out of four).

Try replacing the CMOS battery.. It might have run out, although that should just have reset the settingss, not stopped the POST..

nope thats totally wrong, do this few steps, check the LED on your ac adapter, if its on remove the battery, plug in the ac adapter, if it doesnt comes on check if there are any indications of power on the system, (if you get some LEDs of the system write them down, check if caps lock is blinking, num lock or scroll lock if they are blinking call dell they will tell you whats failing) if it doesnt, remove HDD, Memory, battery, optical drive, modem, mini pci, if that doesnt work, replace MOBO, also try running PSA diagnostics holding down Fn Button along with the power button, check if anything comes on the screen. Hope that helps

Just to cover bases. Try this:

-Remove battery pack and unplug AC power

-Hold power button for 30 seconds or more

-Only plug in AC power this time and try turning it on again

How the hell can you update the video driver if your computer can't POST?

It most likely is a ram problem. I just worked on one that was doing the exact same thing. I had to reseat the ram several times before it finally worked.
