Im looking for a laptop to take over for my desktop, one that can play games and the 1520 has caught my eye. These are my specs.
PROCESSOR: Intel® Core 2 Duo T7500 (4MB cache/2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB)
OPERATING SYSTEM: Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
SYSTEM COLOUR: Jet Black Color with Matte Finish
LCD DISPLAY: 15.4 inch Wide Screen WXGA LCD Display
MEMORY: 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 Dimm
HARD DRIVE: 160G 7200RPM SATA HDD
GRAPHICS CARD: 256MB NVIDIA ®GeForce8600M GT
OPTICAL DRIVE: 24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive
Is the 2.2 ghz processor necessary (coupons dont work with it) or would the 1.8 be fine, I want to be able to play WOW at high detail, and a few other games WC3 maybe the new battlefield.
Any advice would be appreciated

Coupons work with the T7500, not sure what the problem is there...but the recommendation is the T7300. It's the cheapest CPU with 4MB of L2 Cache, which is really what you want. Also the processor has no reflection on being able to play any games, that's only the GPU - which which the 8600GT is the best laptop card you can buy at the moment.

Looks good. You'll be happy with the games you listed. If you want to save some money you can even go down to a T7300 processor without having too much affect on performance. You won't max either processor.

Well, the reason why I say the coupon wont work, is because in Canada(sorry should have mentioned) only applies to 1.5 or 1.8 accodring to the discussion I had with dell a minute ago.

WoW demands rather low specs... so you really don't have to worry about that. Not quite sure about the new BF but...
If you want to get the most bang for your buck, go with the 2.0 GHz w/ the 4MB cache. The 1.8 only has a 2MB cache, and the difference between the 2 GHz and the 2.2 is rather minimal. Your other specs look fine. The 7200 rpm should let games load fast, and the video card is definitely an upgrade from the 128mb 8400m gs. -
Well thank you everyone, Downgrading to the 7300 would save me 100 bucks.
My dell 1520, questions.
