Hello, I bought my E1705 fully loaded in the summer and the only option it came with was the 7900GS video card...the games I play now are way demanding and my laptop is able to play games like Battlefield 2142 on everything high but usually lags with cable. i just built a super desktop with the core 2 duo 2.3 ghz/geforce 8800gts/raptopr 10,000rpm harddrive/2 gigs xms2 ddr2800/asus $200 mobo/$80 heatsink/600watt powersup/$180creative soundcard ....you get the point for the same price as my dell laptop and it is outstanding graphics compared to the laptop....i understand its still a laptop but the graphics are very limited and i was wondering if the Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop video card can be upgraded in the future?? replaced and placed with a better card that will come out

If and only If Dell offer new graphic card in future with the E1705 Chassis, it should be upgradable. The only thing is how to contact Dell's rep to buy it, and the price is not cheap.

You can look over Notebookforums.com for more guys to OVerclock your 7900GS for better performance and it can pair with 7900GTX version. But do this at your own risk. Many users @ notebookforums had modify their E1705 with 7900GTX and it works great.

PS: your E1705 seems like to cost more than 2 grand... You should try the laptop sell by Bal`thaz. XPS system with 7950GTX for 2500$ I think.

Additionally, it might void your warranty with Dell.
