Well, I suppose I just need to vent. After me touting how great Dell's customer service has been (which it really was), now it's been a complete nightmare.
It started 3 weeks ago. I ordered some spare parts for my Inspiron E1705 (after I decided to keep it :( ). Spare hard drive, dvd/rw drive, a bluetooth module, and a spare battery.
The hard drive and dvd/rw arrived fine. The problems began with the bluetooth module. After 2 days of it installed and running fine, it just died for no reason.
So I called Dell support, which after getting transferred to two different departments, finally they issued me a new one, as an exchange. Ok great.
I look at the order status page, and they want to send the wrong module. I call, and the gentleman I spoke with said he would fix it. After many days, it still was not, I had to call again. This time, they cancelled the original, and placed an order for the correct one, twice. So now I have 2 bluetooth modules on the way.
Next. The ac adapter I ordered (a 3 prong adapter with power cord), I recieved a 2 prong, and no power cord. The same man I talked with, who was supposed to correct the bluetooth order, charged me for a new order, and said UPS will come to my house to send back the old one, which I will be refunded for.
3 days of the UPS truck just driving by my house and not stopping, I called Dell again. Only to find out, they charged me TWICE for the 1 item, which overdrue my bank account. So when I called them, I was told, one order would be cancelled and posted back to my bank account. Ok great.
3 days later, my bank account is still overdrawn, now I have an overdraft fee of $32.
So now, this time, I'm upset, I call Dell tonight, and immediately ask to speak with the floor manager, who was so apologetic. I explained everything, and told him, that every single person I talk with, just keeps messing up all my orders. Now, supposedly, he's sending a personal email with all my details and complaints to the customer care manager whom he knows personally, and hopefully this will get straightened out. Of course, until Dell wants to refund me for one of the purchases (the order placed twice), my bank will do nothing to refund the overdraft fee.
I had some problems originally with my laptop, had to get 3 replacement parts about 1 month ago, cause they all decided to die. Up until that point (my laptop is now only 6.5 months old), tech support has been great. Very helpful, understanding. Now this. I'm very disappointed, and just can't believe they could botch this so many times. I've literally spoken with them a total of 10 times now in 2 weeks. Trying to get everything straightened out.
I really cannot recommend Dell to anyone now, and I think they've lost any future business from me, permanently.
If anyone actually reads this, and reads all of it, just know, I understand now what a lot of you have been complaining about. I thought Dell was great. Not now.
I have nothing against foreigners at all, I'm not a prejudiced person. But every single time (except just one) that I've called Dell, I'm always getting someone from India that I cannot understand, and they can't understand me.
Dell, in trying to save money, contracts their tech support to India, but if they keep messing up their orders, it ends up costing Dell more money, don't you agree? They now have to ship back THREE items to them, at their cost, because they messed up my orders.
Just doesn't make sense to me at all.
So I'm sitting here at my pc, 3 hours past my bed time cause I can't sleep, cause I'm so upset about this. Just got off the phone with Dell almost an hour ago.....
    [end rant] Thanks for reading.

An update. Recieved my bluetooth module today and the AC adapter.
AC adapter once again was the wrong one (didn't get a power cord with this one also), but the bluetooth one was correct.
So now I have 4 boxes that have to go back to Dell. 2 incorrect AC adapters, 1 extra bluetooth module they sent (were only supposed to send 1, got 2), and the old bluetooth module that died (already scheduled a pickup with DHL for that tomorrow to send back to Dell).
I called my bank today about the overdraft fee, they will not refund it. They say Dell has to refund it. So now Dell owe's me $66.51 + $32.00 for the double charge and overdraft fee.
I'm so sick of this. Dell has lost me forever as a customer at this point.
I talked with a lady manager, and said I'm done with trying to get the right AC adapter, so I want refunded for both charges and just forget trying to get the correct one. So in fact, they now owe me $66.51 x2, + $32.00 overdraft fee.
I get a feeling I'm going to have to fight them for every penny they owe me... Getting everything together and ready to contact the better business bureau if I must.. What a nightmare this has been for 2 weeks.

Oh man, I'm just glad I got my 1420 in perfect condition. Nothing broken and I don't have to deal with Dell for anything. God know what'll happen if I have to do anything on warranty after reading so many of these horror stories.

I hope you get things sorted out man.

Demand a compensation coupon (they won't give you money for your overdraft fee, trust me). They will try to buy you off with a $50 coupon good towards the purchase of any NEW item on the site. Insist on more because of all the aggravation, computer down time, and hassles with having to deal with carrier returns. Tell them you want at least $200, and they'll likely give you a $100 coupon. Best of luck.

Report them to the BBB. Most often that will get a satisfactory response.

Check their conditions of sale. And demand any compensation or action according to them.
