    My ethernet port doesnt work, or something else?

    When i put in the ethernet wire into the laptop (inspiron 1520) the light for the ethernet port comes on, but nothing happens in the laptop

    I tried going on the internet and didnt work, also, you know when you plug in a ehternet wire into your comp, you get that message "Connect to LAN" or something, i dont even get that....

    This is the first time i am trying ethernet on this comp, this laptop is 2weeks old.

    Help please, what could be the issue?

    i had this problem. turns out it was that i didnt have the ethernet driver installed. do you? cuz if you dont, well, there ya go.
