Having the Dell XPS M1330 for 3 weeks now, it was has been pretty good with me besides some of the disadvantages of it.

I'll start off with the screen. My one came with the TMD LCD2306 display. For me personally, it is bright enough, so im happy i did not receive the CMO display. I am pretty sure there are no dead pixels and no grainy screens.

The keyboard seems pretty straight, no bubble shape like others have on theirs. The fingerprint reader is excellent, first time iv ever had one of them gadgets, very easy and convenient especially when get tired of typing your password over and over again, and realise you did a typo. Its really good and "easy access".

The webcam is great, iv been using it a lot on Messenger. Apparentley the backlight is switched off, I think you should turn it on so the person viewing you can see you much clearer. It also has really good extra features that even my logitech webcam does not have.

I am using a 6-cell battery. The battery life for a full charge lasted me about 3hours 30mins, just chatting and surfing the web. I usually just leave the power adapater plugged in when i am at home, and use it mobile at uni.

I haven't got any games installed on this laptop besides Steam, which i usually play Counter Strike. The graphics are really good, probably a bit better than my old Radeon 9600 on my PC.

My laptop came with a free Dell Bluetooth travel mouse. I really love using it. Very small and easy to carry around. I would highly recommend it for those that are looking for a mouse.

To the negative side, my M1330 has:
    1) Whine noise
    2) Wobbly base
    3) Loose cover (on top of charger socket, next to XPS logo)

I reckon if Sony Vaio's had the same specs and price as the M1330, it would be perfect.

    I am rating my laptop 6/10 !
(Pretty much because of the build, because in the end, you want your laptop to last you.)

while i was using the webcam, the person viewing me thought it was a bit dark. so i went through the menu and there was an option for backlight. turned it on and it was much brighter.

the temperature of this machine is great. it gets warm but it's not bad at all. I had a toshiba, and it used to get so hot that it used to burn me, it was ridiculous. macs also get way hotter. this machine gets warm but not so that you feel uncomfortable.
