    My inspiron 1525 has a bump where the volume and media controls are... Normal??

    Can anyone check theirs please? I'm wondering because the controls on mine sometimes go bonkers and changes volume by itself. It's not really pretty too if you know it's there.

    Mine doesn't have one. Why don't you check under it if something is stuck underneath the controls and see if you could fix that yourself? Maybe the changing volume by itself is caused by the bump since it's touch sensitive and an uneven surface may be causing the problem. I'm sure it'll be such a hassle to send it back for that minor hiccup if everything else is perfect. If you can't, I suggest to just ask Dell to send you a center cover replacement rather than sending it all in. You could change that thing easily in a manner of minutes.
