Alright dont know why im doin this but im bored so why not. When dell makes a laptop with:

    Dual Core 64 bit
next gen disc format (pref. blu-ray)
    SSD Hard drive
    DirectX10 dedicated AND integrated graphics
    LED backlit screen and keyboard
    N wifi
Gigabit LAN (i should have this on my e1505...)
Built-in HD tv tuner or high availabilty of expresscard HD tuner
    Affordable Price!!!

I will buy a new comp - good luck dell

Hmm better yet they should stick one of those new LG dual format players in there ;) I just saw it in my Forbes magazine.. LG makes a stand alone HD-DVD and blu-ray player in one drive ;) haha.. finally :) dont' know how much it cost though lol

some machines in the XPS line have hi-def player if im not mistaken
and about the TV-tuner theres always express card tv-tuners in the market which is much cheaper than buying from dell itself

dedicated and integrated gaphics i doont think so until unless it is an notebook in the thin an light caategory like the XPS m1330 which does not provide it either
but it would be gr8 if they did though summat like the sony SZ series
about the rest i dunno backlit keyboard well....possibility but unlikely
dells are famous for their price : performance ratio atleast in their consumer line inspirons possibly the inspiron refresh will haf some options like u mentioned and if it does they would greatly increase their customer base

for me its asus next  :D

Yes, both of my XPS M2010 were ordered and recieved not too long before dell released the blu ray drive option on the M2010. However as some have noted.. the resolution on the M2010 isn't high enough to view all the quality that the blu ray offers. It doesn't even have a HDMI port only a DVI and .. I don't know much info regarding that area but someone said you can.. output the quality to a seperate display but it would require two cables, one for audio and one for video instead of just one cable via the HDMI or.. did I even spell that right? haha i feel so stupid now. So essentionally the drive is just another sales marketing thing.

On the side note.. I LOVE the screen quality on my M2010 and I think watching a blu ray disk would still be great as.. I know the difference in quality between a regular dvd and the blu ray and I believe there's more then enough resolution and pixels to show a noticable difference between playing a dvd on the M2010 and using the new blu-ray drive, just maybe not up to the full resolution of what the high def movies offer.

Blu-Rays or Hd DVDs on a notebook is always a gimmick i would rather buy a seperate player and watch it on a 1080p television anyday :D
and even if i were to buy one i would wait to see which format comes on top after this format war is over and would make my decision correspondingly on the plus side players would be cheaper then ...hopefully
