And it's the fantabulous Dell Latitude 400!!!!

I ran some sort of D2D recovery on it and it installed win2k and it only runs 640x480 resolution. Is thing worth trying to make work? It has 512mb ram and a 1.4ghz pM.

All she wants to do it type and get online.

Well it might not be the best laptop on the block, but considering her needs, it should work fine. 512mb is enough to run windows and a few programs without slowing down the system.

You don't need a core duo in order to run word and do websurfing. The latitude is a pretty good series. It is very durable and seems to last forever.
