Dear laptop experts... I have a new laptop at last, a Dell Latitude D520. The power supply adapter it uses is: 65W AC Adapter, , output listed as 19.5V, 3.34A. It's a "PA-12 Family" adapter.

My question is, can I use a different adapter, it's a "PA-6 Family," output power simply listed as 20V, 3.5A...or will I just totally FRY my new pride and joy? I know the tip is different, I'd change it to suit. But not if all I'm gonna do is cook my new toy.

    with all thanks, Glennski

If the tip is different it's different for a reason...don't use it.
