I am expecting my new 630 soon.

What junk did Dell install on the system ?

Can I not just delete the junk or is it too embedded ?

Are all of the files I need to reformat and reinstall on the resource disk ?

Did Dell put the junk on the resource disk also ?

I appreciate your experienced advice !!!!!

    Thanks,

First of all, please state your question a bit more clear!!! Dell usually does not install "JUNK" application into D-family notebooks, maybe google desktop and window media player.

To reformat the HDD you do not need the resource CD, simply go under ur MS-DOS and you can complete that. and i am sure all the drivers are on your resource disk, if not you can download them from Support.Dell.com.

The pictures are gone and I did not get to see them :(.

My question is: Which hard drive is better?
Should I get the 120GB Hard Drive, 9.5MM, 5400RPM because it has better battery life.
    or
Should I get the 120GB Hard Drive, 9.5MM, 7200RPM because it is faster.

    7200, speed > battery.

    I just ordered mine! 2.0ghz with 120gb 7200, 9-cell battery, all for 1200
didn't get the fingerprint scanner.. looks like a gimmick

Homer - several tests indicate the battery savings difference is extremely minimal. Sorry I cannot provide exact proof.
