i get some unknown beep noise on my e1705 that comes up randomly.. i do not know why it does that. Is it a problem? It just beeps once. Everything seems fine. Anybody with older inspirons or the e1705 with the same beep noise?

Checkout the Beep codes here but I suggest to run a test using the Diagnostic Utility by Dell to see if you'll get any error code.

Try to check the settings of your Quickset. See if it is configured to warn (alarm) you for low battery using a sound (not sure what sound it is using - a beep sound or any other sound).

If you have the Dell Drivers and Utilities CD, you can find the diagnostic utility on it.

Dell gave me squat the only cds i got was an AOL cd and a Corel cd.. both to me are useless. They give me the useless cds rather than the important ones. I asked for earthlink internet too but they give me a aol cd anyway lol.

I dont use my battery at all since its pretty much a notebook replacement. Hmm it might be overheating.. but im not doing nothing on it just browsing the web literally.

Im thinking it might be cause i have my drivers overclocked to see the benchmarks i can get on the 7800.

Just waiting on the updated undervolting programs so then i can hopefully get the temps lowered.. Havent ran a program to see the average temperature throughout usage..

What is the name of the program that monitors your notebook temperature and shows you charts for the past hour past 2 hours etc.
