Guys, I'm in a serious dilemma here.
I can get an e1505 with the following specs for $1241 shipped:
Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 4MB L2 cache 667MHz FSB
2GB RAM DDR2-667MHz
15.4-inch UltraSharp Wide Screen SXGA+ Display with TrueLife 1680 x 1050
256MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory
100GB HD 7200 rpm
DVD+/-RW
HD Audio
Bluetooth
I just visited the Dell website. Now, I can get a Santa Rosa equipped Inspiron 1520 with the following specs for $1,603.62 shipped (with no discount at all).
Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB/4MB cache)
2GB RAM DDR2-667MHz
Glossy, widescreen 15.4 inch display (1280x800)
256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 8600M GT
80GB HD 5400 rpm
CD R/Rw + DVD combo drive
2.0 mp WEBCAm
Bluetooth
Now here's my story... My budget is about $1300.00. The e1505 offer will be available to me only this week.
Do you guys think I should wait for Dell to release new coupons? Will they even release new coupons for such new items? e1505 is okay deal for me since i'm not into INTENSIVE gaming but if a coupon was to come along, the prices will pretty much be alike?
Please let me know. Im in such a dilemma!
Thanks!

In all honesty I would go with what fits your budget, I would also check the dell outlet maybe and buy a refurbished system and save your money to buy a better system later

I think dell will definately release coupons for its new items. but obviously i cant garuntee that.

Well, I can see two items on your e1520 configuration that are increasing the cost over your e1505 configuration:
1). GeForce 8600M GT graphics card - the equivalent of the x1400 on the new models is the GeForce 8400M GS. That's $100 saved.
2). 2.0 MP Webcam. On at least some of the starting configs, you can forgo this option. That's $30 saved.
But you're still at $1465ish after tax and shipping. Which as you've stated is too much.
So I'd go with the e1505. That's still a $200 difference. Check and make sure you don't have a warranty difference or anti-virus subscription driving up the cost of the new model, but if not, go with the e1505 while you still can. The performance will be similar at worst, and you'll have both a faster and bigger hard drive. True, you won't have the nice magnesium-alloy chassis, but the old Inspirons ought to hold up OK with good treatment.
I highly doubt you'll see new coupons that make a $200 difference before the e1505 model is gone (July 2nd?), so take the good deal now. The Dell outlet is also a good place to check to snag great offers, but mind that you can't customize those units and they go really quick (literally hours for the better deals). -
There is also some coupon in the bargain section of this site. -
Did you apply the $350 coupon for the 1520 model. Get the 1520. (after discount)
