So my motherboard was recently replaced, and now, when I power on, the NUM lock light is on while it boots up. It goes off when I log on. This isn't a big deal, but it didn't do this before, and I was just wondering if anyone knows how to change it. I looked in the BIOS, but didn't see anything.

In this thread, someone suggested changing these registry entries to 0.
Mine right now are set like this:

I guess I could try setting the one to 0 after copying the number down, reboot and see, and then revert if the light won't come on period, as in when I turn NUM Lock on, or anything else weird. Can anyone think of any negative effects this plan might have?

Any other input or solutions? Thanks. :)

There is an option in the BIOS, not sure exactly the name as I don't have a Dell with the new BIOS in front of me, but there will be one like "Numlock state on boot:" Set it to off.
Otherwise, that reg key should probably be fine, though it really will just be turning numlock off when you boot.

Yep, your doing it the hard way. Its in the bios...which correlates to the mobo being replaced.

Yep. You guys were right....I found it. My bad. Maybe I'll boot back into Windows in a bit and check on what the registry looks like now.
