    Hi All,

I just got my XPSM1710, but have a question....

I apologize for my ignorance, but it seems that Im missing a bunch of options after I select "3D Settings". When I click on that I do not see any options related to the GPU itself (i.e. monitoring its temperature, increasing GPU Speed) Do any of you know what is going on? The only sub-catergories I see are "appearance" and "performance". Under performance I only see "manage 3-D luanch settings" - nothing else....

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

later versions of the nvidia / dell drivers don't have monitoring -- although it now has overclocking as an option, with a little tweak in the registry. go figure.

if you want to monitor temps from nvidia software, you need to install nTune.

Are you running XP or vista? The vista drivers are sorely lacking right now, if your in XP I'd look around and see if you can find a slightly older version. AM what version are you running that enables OC in the control panel? I'm having nothing but trouble with ntune on my desktop. The factory core on my 7900 gt is 450, with ntune's detect option, it gives me 427, 450 and 427 are the only clocks that will pass. I've run the card for over a year at core 545,mem 800(660 stock) with no problems at all.

iceman0124: i'm using the latest drivers from Dell, with the following tweak to the registry. go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak

create a new DWord called "Coolbits", and give it a hex value of 3.

done! don't even need to reboot. close regedit, and under 3D Settings in Nvidia Control Panel, you should see "change overclocking configuration" under "performance".
