Hi guys,
I am wondering if there is a software/driver that I can download to use mouse gestures. For example, my brother's Inspiron E1405 can use just a tap on the upper left hand corner of the mouse area as a back button while browsing.
I really want this ability, but I could not find anything in my Dell's mouse and pointer properties... Is there such a way to do the mouse gestures that I may overlook?
Please respond for the way to do this or maybe a software/driver I need to download to make this work
Thks very much
Jack

Assuming the M1330 uses the 'Synaptics' touchpad (check your 'Device Manager'), you can download the most up to date generic drivers straight from the hardware manufacturer themselves. I did the very same on my works Inspiron 1501 and now have an extended featureset for my own notebook akin to your brothers.

I'd advise locating and backing up the original drivers before you do any modding of your own though, they do warn on the website that you should really only use the drivers supplied by the original vendor (in this instance: Dell). So there is no guarantee that they will work.
Alternatively, if this doesn't work for you, I believe there are extensions for both IE7 and Firefox that allow mouse gestures using regular touchpad conventions. I use Opera myself which has them built in.
Examples:
Right Click + Scroll Left = Back
Right Click + Scroll Right = Forward
Right Click + Scroll Down = New Tab

Thank you for your advice! Will try my best to get it working.

Could you post if you've had any luck? I miss having a back button on the tochpad. With my Sony, I can swipe from the top middle to top left.
UPDATE: I installed the uninstalled the Dell Synaptics driver and restarted, downloaded a new one from Synaptics webpage and installed it. I now have touch zones, which I set as a back key. It doesnt seem like Synaptics allows the slide back gesture like my Sony does.
