Hey there, Ive recently bought an Inspiron 1520 -

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T5250 (1.50 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2-cache)
    15.4" Widescreen WXGA+ (1440x900) TFT Display with TrueLife™
    2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024]
    160GB (7200RPM) SATA Hard Drive
    nVidia® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT with 256MB DDR2 dedicated graphic memory

I have never overclocked a PC or a Laptop before... all i know is that there are risks, or burning them out when you overclock?

How far can i overclock this, so its comforatbly safe and with nice increased performance?

Thanks for reading, i hope someone can give me some info :)

The graphics card you can overclock using either nTune or Rivatuner. An overclock to about 590/475 is usually safe, but you ought to increase it in increments just to make sure you don't overdo anything. I've seen 600/500 be stable, but it isn't for everyone. Some have even gone a bit higher (610/475, 575/515) but generally 600/500 is the roof. To overclock at all, you'll need the 169.xx drivers (150-something will also work, but I forget the last digit) from laptopvideo2go.com
