Alright I got all the steps to make a really easy boot process, heres the link if your interested too.

    http://www.syschat.com/dual-boot-vista-xp-vista-already-1946.html

But my question is when installing XP I have to go into the Bios and change my HDD from HCDI (or something) to ATA and turn turbo cache off. Now even when I turn the stuff back Vista will load fine but XP requires everything off and switched to ATA, it will not run in HCDI otherwise it just crash apon loading XP. Now Instead of switching my bios to that and back when i load vista how do I load xp with this type of HDD. Is there a Driver or something and also I don't have a floppy disc. I just can't seem to find a good answer so if anyone has done what I have done please help :D (reinstalling XP is np, also I have a SP2 disc and it will not see the drivers)

Download nLite, which allows you to slipstream the SATA drivers onto the Win XP disc. There's a guide on installing WinXP on an Inspiron 1420 that show's you how to do that.
I've dual-booted XP with Vista on my m1330. It can be done without having to switch from AHCI to ATA.

Would love some detailed instructions on how you've done this on your M1330! I just ordered mine and would be OK (albeit reluctant) converting 100% to Vista, but I've got a few apps that my work requires me to run under XP.

Also, any recommendations on how (incl what software to use) to image my Vista partitions first before trying to install & dual-boot Win XP?

    Thanks!
