Hi everyone. I am fairly new to the notebook scene and come across this site when i needed to research some things about notebooks. In anycase i ordered an e1505 from dell and the specs are as follows:

    2.0 ghz Core Duo
    2x 512 Dual Channel Ram
    60gb 7200 RPM HDD
    Bluetooth + Intel Pro Wireless
    15.4 Wsxga+ Screen
    Ati Radeon x1400 HyperMemory

I followed the directions provided by SouthernGirl in order to reformat and reinstall windows Xp to my notebook. My problem lies in the part where i needed to install the drivers. My system came with a Drivers and Utilities disk but under the computer type pull down menu, there were no options for Inspiron e1505/e1705. There were other options for systems such as the 9300, 6000, 710m etc. Which of these systems closely resemble the architecture of my e1505? Should i bother with the Drivers and Utilities Disk or should i just install the Network Card and download the drivers directly from dell's site?

Any help would be appreciated. TIA.

I believe the e1505 is known as the 6400 on Dell's business site.

I would download the drivers from Dell's website because they have the specifec drivers for the e1505 based on your specs.

I just got my e1505 from Dell and did a fresh install of XP. The driver disk they provide you is incorrect. I contacted Dell and they said they don't have a driver disk yet for this machine. Go figure.

Anyway just go to the driver section of the machine, dl, and install. Pay attention to the order.
