I ordered my m1530 back in April and received the 40% off deal. My laptop was delivered last monday and had an RW985 Samsung screen 1680 x 1050. I've contacted dell twice about a replacement and both times received another Samsung even though they told me i'd be receiving an LG. Now, after contacting them again they told me that i will not receive an LG replacement and my choices are to keep the screen or reorder.
The Samsung screen I have is not as bad as others have experienced. It has good brightness and viewing angles, but my concern is the medium grain on the screen. While some people can look past it, this sort of thing is noticeable to me although not to the point of being annoying.
If I were to reorder i would not order the same resolution as there is no guarantee that i would receive an LG. Instead I would order the LED WXGA+. I prefer higher resolution screens but my experience with the WSXGA+ hasn't been great and the WUXGA, i believe, is only manufactured by Samsung which is not a company i want to deal with right now.
I concern I have with reordering is losing my original 40% discount and I'd hate to pay more to get a computer that I should've received in the first place. Does anyone have any experience in reordering from dell and getting a good discount from the sales representative? Any information is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance. My experience with Dell has been very frustrating and I could use some help.

I've replaced my laptop a few times to get a non-grainy screen and any discounts carried over when I reordered. You just have to talk to them and make sure the price is the same at the time of ordering. It may mean that you'll have to talk to more than one person, but if you are persistent it shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone else? I'm having trouble choosing between the WXGA+ LED and the WSXGA+ CCFL. I enjoy the higher resolution but I also like the idea of having an LED backlight. Also, does anyone know if the new LED screens have any grain?
