Dell promised me a 6-cell battery in addition to the 9-cell that I have coming. But they can't find the part # and if I don't come up with one it sounds like they are gonna renig on their promise. Can someone give me the part # for the M1330 6-Cell battery?

    Thanks!

I've asked for part numbers myself a few times and have gotten no response from forum members. I did Dell online chat and was able to get the part numbers.

    4 cell is DU128
    6 cell is FW302
    9 cell is UM230

It only took a few minutes to get the part numbers via chat. Next time try it.

The part # I show from my service tag info online is:

NX511 BATTERY, PRIMARY, 56WHR, 6C, LITHIUM, DYNAPACK INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLONG CORP

The part # from my order details summary prior to shipping was:

312-0561 56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery, for XPS M1330

The US part numbers are the parts I listed above. Let's pretend for a minute that you're a grownup and type those numbers into the search box on the dell website.

    ;)

Sorry, No Results. You Searched for "312-0561" in Products

The other 2 link to a spare parts listing for around $50, but it doesn't saying for m1330 so I doubt the Nausheen rep is going to approve it unless it says specifically.

Use the FW302 and at least give it a try don't say it's not going to work. Just tell them you found that part # and go with it.....If they send you the wrong one you just call back and sell that one on eBay!

Why don't you just purchase it online? That's what I did, so now I have spare battery for a system I haven't received. If it doesn't work I can always just return it

I'm not sure you get it or why this is so difficult. I purchased FW302, 6 cell AND UM230, 9 cell and I'm using them with my 1330. Those are the part numbers, not the "312-0561" number. The part numbers for ordering or replacing whether you buy them or get them for free are the ones with 2 letters and 3 numbers that I listed above.

And I got these part numbers by speaking with someone in XPS online support.

I don't know what country you're in but if you live in the US then Nausheen is wrong.

    1 FW302 BATTERY, PRIMARY, 56WHR, 6C, LITHIUM, SANYO

was shipped brand new, with my M1330.

    Call someone else.

Is this a call or an email/online conversation? If so, I think you'll have a better chance with a phone call; emotions play out better that way.

whoever got a 6 cell., look into the serial number on the battery itself..
sometimes starting with CN or MX
    if you have CN0XXXXX3454906A32
the XXXXX is the part number
so go post the part# for those who have the 6cell.

310-1234 this is the SKU number used for brandnew parts
the XXXXX(5digit part#) is it's counterpart and also used for refurbished parts.

again if you need to know the part# of the battery, decode the serial number.
