Hi guys,
Just stumbled upon this site recently when I was researching for a new laptop purchase, and I have to say that this place is a fantastic resource. I settled on an XPS m1330, but I have an issue with it and I could use a little bit of help from someone with the Toshiba/TMD LED LCD panel in their m1330, so I decided to sign up. I am going to give a bit of backstory first, but if you feel like helping out and don't really care about the backstory, you can skip down to what I need below.
When my m1330 arrived, I noticed that the screen was sort of...sparkly. You could also say grainy, I guess. I then noticed faint horizontal lines running all over the screen, giving everything the appearance of having a patterned background or the sense that you are looking through a mesh screen all the time; the best way I can describe it is that it looks somewhat like the scan lines that you would see on a CRT. I Googled this issue and found posts on this site explaining that it is a problem that people have been having with the Chi Mei Optoelectronics/CMO LED backlit display, and sure enough, the device manager said that that is what my display is. I arranged for a technician to come to my house and replace the LCD panel, but he arrived with another CMO panel that, when installed, exhibited the same problem. To make matters worse, I later noticed that he screwed up the hinge and lid somehow so that the hinge now makes a completely terrible creaking noise when it is opened or closed, the lid does not shut fully and, when the lid is shut as far as it will go, the left side of the screen is raised significantly compared to the right side, as if the whole lid is warped or something.
Anyway, HERE IS WHAT I NEED:
I am going to attempt to get a replacement sent from Dell, and I would like to try to tell them to send a machine with a TMD display instead of the CMO display if possible. I think it would really help if I had the part number for the TMD display, so I would really appreciate it if someone who knows that they have the TMD display could:
1) Go to support.dell.com
2) Click "Warranty Information" on the left
3) Click "Warranty Status"
4) Put in their service tag
5) Click the "Original System Configuration" tab
6) Look through the parts in their machine until they find their "LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY" part and ensure that it says it is a Toshiba display
7) Let me know what the part number next to it is!
I've attached a picture showing what I am basically looking for. Notice that, in my build list, the LCD panel is listed as a Chi Mei Optoelectronics one with a part number of GR549.
I have looked all over for the TMD display part number and cannot seem to find it, so I would greatly appreciate it if someone would do this favor for me!
Thanks!

Thank you so much! Having those numbers will hopefully help me when I am dealing with Dell support tomorrow. You have very likely saved me from a lengthy call with a confused Dell rep.
Need a favor from someone with a TMD LED backlit M1330
