    Hey guys,

I need a little help here. Placed an order for an E1505 a few days ago during a huge fire sale you may remember. However, now, I'm looking at whether maybe I should have gotten a Vostro 1400. Yes, I know, classic buyer's remorse perhaps. Please give me your advice/opinions on these two:

    VOSTRO 1400:
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5470 (1.6GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
    Genuine Windows Vista® Business
14.1 inch Wide Screen XGA+ LCD Display with TrueLife™ (1440x900)
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 DIMM
    160G 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
    8X CD/DVD Burner w/ double-layer DVD+R write capability
    128MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8400M GS
    Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Wi-Fi Mini Card
Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal (2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)
Integrated 2.0 mega pixel Web Camera
    Integrated High Definition Audio
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
    $1,098

    E1505:
    (Dell Inspiron E1505)
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)
    15.4 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen SXGA+ 1680x1050 Display with TrueLife™
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 Dimm
    256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory™
    100GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
    Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium
    8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
    Integrated Audio
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945a/g
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal (2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)
    $1,022

    • I don't care about the extra hard drive space on the 1400
    • Build quality, screen quality, speakers, and portability matter to me
    • I am really confused about how much better the T7200 is than the T5470

Thank you very much in advance!

    Steve

I'd opt for the Vostro since it has the newer and more powerful graphics card. And for most tasks, the T5470 should be more than sufficient.

i'd go with the vostro 1400...the build quality is supposedly better than the e1505, also the processor has 800mhz fsb(santa rosa),over the 667mhz of the e1505 which should be better...also, you are getting a directx10 card which will be future proof (should play all games on low/medium) settings
