I bought a M-Audio Firewire 410 and I can only record with it for a few minutes at a time before it starts buzzing. M-Audio blames this on the firewire port sharing IRQs with other devices.

Can anyone recommend an audio interface that will workwith this laptop?

I've seen that thread. The M410 is not Core Duo, so I have a different problem.

A lot of people who are into serious music recording say to avoid USB interfaces. That's why I made sure to get a laptop with firewire. But I am starting to consider a USB interface.

The Audigys wouldn't work for me though. I need XLR mic and instrument inputs.
