    Hello All,

    My Dell Inspiron E1505 notebook dvd burner died couple of days back. I was shopping in the newegg website for slimline dvd burner and came accross the following list :

    1. Sony NEC Optiarc Slim 8X DVD±R Burner Black SATA Model AD-7590S-01 - OEM

    2. Pioneer Internal Slim 8X DVD Burner with 5X DVD-RAM Black IDE Model DVR-K17 - OEM

    Most CD/DVD drives are basically the same form factor. They are the same shape. The difference is usually the mounting and the matching of the plastic front piece mounted on the tray that pops open. Look carefully at how the plastic piece is attached to yours and then go to Best Buy or some other computer store where you could see and identify an exact replacement. Make a note of the model or models that will work and then shop for your best price.
